Our Story

From the inception of our first branch in Vile Parle (East), Mumbai in 1981 to our many branches across India, we have endeavoured to bring you the best vegetarian delicacies blended with quality service, for a truly memorable dining experience. Stunning aromas, vibrant colours, a divine burst of flavours, nostalgia far from home, comforting warmth, and unforgettable memories, all these and more define Shiv Sagar today.

Our Inspiration

The epic journey of our Founder, Mr. Shankar R Poojary, from his scenic hometown in Karnataka to the vibrant metropolis of Bombay, inspires our sincere commitment to serve you the best vegetarian delicacies. Shiv Sagar, much like India, is a melting pot of flavours and cuisines. It is also a humble tribute to the spirit of Bombay.

We are truly honoured to be serving our valued guests for more than four decades. Calling our brand rustic wouldn’t encompass the fusion infused over the years. Whereas, calling it modern would overlook its iconic inception decades ago. The best way to describe the Shiv Sagar brand would be - ‘a beautiful blend of old charm and new zest - a feast for our souls and our senses’.

The Birth of Shiv Sagar

The name and logo of Shiv Sagar stems from the life and energy derived from the elements of nature, and the almighty who breathed life into our existence. The Sun, Moon, Earth, Water, Fire and; Lord Shiva are the inspiration that led to the birth of our brand.

Mr. Sunil S Poojary and Mr. Shridhar S Poojary, the entrepreneurs behind the brand, together with their team, endeavour to strengthen, consolidate, and scale their business of pure vegetarian restaurants across the globe.
